Helen Keaney

Helen Keaney began her career in New York City where she became an artist-in-residence at the Manhattan Punchline. Stand-up comedy was a natural next step for this actress/writer, performing at such notable comedy clubs as Catch a Rising Star, Stand-Up New York and The Comic Strip. She caught the attention of television executives, landing a co-host role on Comedy Central’s “Short Attention Span Theater” and becoming a writer/sketch player on VH-1’s “Fools for Love”. In the summer of ‘94, she moved to the West Coast to pursue her acting career. Within weeks of arriving in LA, she landed a co-host role in a Disney pilot called “The Big Day” and was cast as the spokesperson for the new “TV! Cable” channel. Acting roles followed with guest spots on NBC’s “John Larroquette Show”, HBO’s “Not Necessarily the News” with Dennis Miller and USA Network’s “Lost on Earth” pilot. She did the voice for the spunky female lead on the popular CD-Rom “Pandemonium” and was recently the host of “First on Fox” airing on fxM cable highlighting great moments from Fox film history. Helen recently co-hosted several eposides of TBS’ “Movies For Guys Who Like Movies” and was co-host for Game Show Network’s “Lover’s Lounge”. Helen has also performed stand-up on A&E’s “An Evening at the Improv”, Lifetime’s “Girl’s Night Out”, VH-1’s “Stand-Up Spotlight”, NBC’s “Friday Night!” and Comedy Central’s “Make Me Laugh”. Helen can be seen on several television commercials including a national spot for Clorox, Tylenol, Gateway, Dr. Scholls, Gallo Wine and Starkist.
